Band Member

A nameless musician in one of Futurama's crowd scenes, present to fill out a stage or a party rather than to carry a plot. He exists at the edges of the frame, doing whatever a background band member does in the 31st century — playing, standing, reacting — without demanding the story's attention.

The joke of Futurama's universe is how thick with incidental voices it is, and Maurice LaMarche is one of the show's great utility players, dropping into small roles like this with the same commitment he brings to his bigger ones. Even a glimpsed band member gets a fully considered voice, which is the gag.
