Bad Mitten

Bad Mitten turns up as one of Big Mouth's many odd, single-purpose creations, a punning bit of background flavor rather than a driving presence in any one kid's story. Introduced with a shrug and a groan-worthy name, the character exists mostly to make you laugh at the joke before moving on.

Nick Kroll's gift for committing fully to throwaway gags is what sells it. He never winks at how silly the premise is; he just plays it straight, which is funnier than any acknowledgment could be. It's a small pleasure, but the show's world feels richer for having room for jokes this disposable and this confidently delivered.
