Axl turns up as one of the many small, sharply drawn faces that pass through New New York in Futurama — the kind of one-scene or one-episode figure the show conjures to fill out its universe of robots, aliens, and eccentric professionals, dropped into the plot with a specific role to play and just enough personality to register before he's gone.

Maurice LaMarche is one of Futurama's great utility players, the voice behind Kif, Morbo, Calculon and a dozen others, and he brings that same craft to smaller parts like this one: a distinct vocal texture, a comic rhythm, a sense that even a minor character has been fully imagined rather than phoned in.
