Attila the Hun

A preserved head in the Head Museum's collection of history's great and terrible figures, Attila the Hun turns up for a moment of civic pageantry, growling out proclamations with the swagger of a conqueror who still thinks he's addressing an army rather than a jar.

He's a sight gag stretched into a punchline: the fiercest warlord in history reduced to a bodiless head mouthing bureaucratic platitudes. Maurice LaMarche gives him a booming, self-important rasp that makes the incongruity land instantly — menace with nowhere left to go, which is exactly the joke.
