Arthur Senior

Arthur Shelby Senior is the father who left long ago, resurfacing in his sons' lives with a salesman's grin and empty pockets. He talks of horses and old times, professes love easily, and asks for help just as easily. Charming, unreliable, and always working an angle, he wants back in without earning it.

Tommy Flanagan plays him as a man who believes his own charm even as everyone around him has learned better, and that gap is where the character lives. He's a ghost of the family's past turned huckster, and Flanagan's warmth makes his self-interest sting rather than simply repel.
