Character

Arthur "Art" Bell

Arthur "Art" Bell in Orphan Black (2013), played by Kevin Hanchard.

Art Bell is a Toronto detective, partnered with Beth Childs and blindsided when the woman he trusts turns out to be someone else entirely. Steady, sharp, and instinctively protective, he starts pulling at threads his job never prepared him for, refusing to let procedure stop him from finding out what happened to his partner.

Kevin Hanchard plays the show's rare grounded skeptic, a cop whose disbelief gives the clone conspiracy something to push against. He's not comic relief or muscle; he's genuine moral ballast, and his slow, reluctant acceptance of the impossible mirrors the audience's own, making the weirdness land harder because he resists it so hard first.

Arthur "Art" Bell is a veteran detective who worked alongside Beth Childs. After helping his partner get away with a civilian shooting, Art unknowingly meets Sarah Manning, Beth's clone posing as his partner. Art soon grows suspicious of her uncharacteristic and erratic behavior and begins to suspect not everything is as it seems. One thing becomes clear; he is not a man who likes a mystery to go unsolved.
