Arnold

Arnold turns up in Josh's orbit as the sweet, slightly odd younger guy who falls for him fast and says so without much cover. He's earnest to the point of awkwardness, eager, a little anxious, unused to hiding what he feels. There's no game in him — just hope, worn plainly on the surface.

Keegan Joyce plays him with a guilelessness that could curdle into twee but never does, because the show trusts Arnold's sincerity as much as he does. He's funny in his over-eagerness and touching in his patience, and against Josh's drift he becomes the one person onscreen who actually knows what he wants.
