Aramco Receptionist

She sits behind the desk at Aramco, the polite gatekeeper standing between whoever from Arlen needs something and the vast machinery of the oil business beyond her. Her scene is brief and functional, a courteous obstacle rather than a character with a stated want beyond doing her job well.

The show's gift is stacking these throwaway single-scene roles with real vocal actors, so a receptionist who exists mostly to move a plot forward still gets the specificity and comic timing Lauren Tom brings to everything she reads. It's a small, well-placed brushstroke rather than a showcase.
