Anna Conroy

Anna Conroy works in the administrative offices of the New Burbage Festival, quietly keeping the theatre company's finances and logistics from collapsing while directors and actors indulge their tempers. She is capable, self-effacing, and endlessly reasonable, the person who actually answers the phone when everything else is on fire.

Susan Coyne, who also co-wrote the series, gives Anna a dry, watchful humor that makes her the show's most reliable narrator of its own absurdity. She's never the loudest person in the room, but the writing trusts her competence and quiet longing enough to make her indispensable rather than incidental.
