Anna

Anna is a piano teacher from Villanelle's life before she became what she is now — glimpsed in flashback, warm and unguarded, drawn to a gifted, unpredictable student. She teaches with patience and affection, unaware of how much danger sits across the keyboard from her, or how much that closeness will cost.

Susan Lynch plays tenderness as its own kind of tension: every scene with her carries the hum of a world about to tip. She gives Anna real warmth rather than a plot device, so the flashbacks land as loss rather than backstory, and the show's central question — what made Villanelle this way — gets a human, aching answer.
