Animated Paul Revere

A caricature of the Revolutionary War hero, this Paul Revere turns up in Futurama's twisted vision of history and the future alike, delivering his midnight-ride warnings with the same overheated, self-important urgency no matter how absurd the context. He wants to be heard, remembered, and taken seriously — usually in situations where that's impossible.

Billy West's gift for vocal parody does the heavy lifting: he plays Revere as a windbag patriot who has wandered out of a textbook illustration and into a cartoon that has no use for his gravitas. The joke is the mismatch between his self-seriousness and the show's gleeful disregard for it.
