Angus Mhor

Angus Mhor is one of the rough Highland men riding with Jamie Fraser, first glimpsed among the band that seizes Claire Randall on the road and hauls her back to Castle Leoch. Gruff, suspicious of the strange Englishwoman, and quick with a blade, he treats her capture as simple business, not cruelty.

Stephen Walters gives Angus a coiled, watchful energy that keeps him from being just muscle in a plaid. He's funny in short, dry bursts and genuinely dangerous in the next breath, and that unpredictability makes the early scenes of Claire's captivity feel properly uncertain rather than merely picturesque.
