Angela Abar / Sister Night

In Tulsa, masked policing is the law after an attack on the force, and Angela Abar polices under the name Sister Night while running a bakery as her public face. Married with children, she is exacting and controlled, quick to violence when provoked, and fiercely private about the badge she still carries beneath it.

Regina King plays vigilance as a full-time occupation, someone who has built an entire domestic life as camouflage and still can't fully rest inside it. The show trusts her stillness to carry menace and grief at once, and King finds the crack in the composure before a single line of exposition explains why it's there.
