Angel

Angel is a runner on the Big Brother production team, the kind of job that means doing whatever the shouting producers demand and getting none of the credit. She's sharp, put-upon, and quietly fed up with being treated as disposable — right before the outside world gives everyone a much bigger problem than office politics.

Dead Set spends its first stretch skewering reality-TV cruelty, and Angel is the audience's eye on that machine — smart enough to see how badly she's treated, still too junior to do anything about it. Chizzy Akudolu plays her with dry, exhausted competence, so when the crisis hits, her calm under pressure feels earned rather than convenient.
