Andrew Glouberman

Andrew is the anxious, hormone-addled center of Big Mouth's misery — a seventh grader lurching through puberty with mortifying erections, spiraling self-loathing, and a Hormone Monster egging him on. He wants to be normal, wants a girlfriend, wants his body to stop betraying him in public. Mostly he wants the humiliation to end, which it never quite does.

Mulaney plays Andrew's shame with total commitment, turning cringe into something oddly tender rather than just gross. The character works because the show refuses to let his awkwardness be cool or knowing — he's genuinely pathetic and anxious in a way that feels true to being thirteen, and Mulaney's nasal, guilt-ridden delivery makes every bad decision land as both hilarious and recognizable.
