Andrea Cornish

Andrea Cornish is the young woman Naz meets one night in New York, impulsive and restless, living alone in a townhouse that isn't quite her own life. She's charming, unpredictable, a little reckless with strangers, and clearly running from something the show hasn't named yet. She invites Naz along almost on a whim, and he goes.

Sofia Black-D'Elia has only the pilot to make Andrea matter, and she uses it well: brittle energy under the flirtation, a sense of someone testing how far a stranger will follow her. Because she registers as a real, specific person rather than a plot device, everything the show later asks about her death carries actual weight.
