A background figure glimpsed in one of Futurama's throwaway sight gags — an Amish man dropped into the show's far-future New New York, where his plain dress and quiet manner read as a joke against the city's neon chaos. He exists for a beat, not a plot, saying little and needing nothing.

The character is pure Futurama efficiency: a single visual incongruity, over almost as soon as it lands. Maurice LaMarche, an actor built for outsized cartoon bombast, gets to underplay instead, and that restraint is the punchline — proof the show trusted its bit parts as much as its leads.
