Alpha leads the Whisperers, a group that survives among the dead by wearing their skins and moving like them. She meets other survivors with unnerving calm, speaking in a flat, measured voice that reveals nothing. Order matters more to her than comfort, and she expects total obedience from anyone under her protection.

Samantha Morton plays her with an eerie stillness, stripping away ordinary human warmth so that even small gestures feel like calculation. The writing gives her a genuinely alien worldview—civilization as weakness—and Morton never softens it for sympathy, which makes her quiet menace far more unsettling than any shouted villainy.
