Alfred 'Paper Boi' Miles

Alfred is a working rapper trying to turn a local buzz into an actual living, still slinging to make rent while his cousin Earn talks his way into managing him. He's wary, tired, funny in a deadpan way, and allergic to bullshit — he wants respect and money, in whatever order he can get them.

Brian Tyree Henry plays him with a stillness that makes the show's surreal detours land harder — he's the gravity in the room. The writing never lets his fame be a joke; it's a job with real danger and real exhaustion, and Henry finds the weary humor and sudden menace in that without ever overplaying either.
