Albino Shouting Gorilla's

A background gag rather than a proper character, this albino gorilla turns up on some flickering screen or channel-surf gag within Futurama's sprawling universe of parody media, doing exactly what the name promises: bellowing, wide-eyed, with the manic conviction of a nature-documentary subject who has had quite enough.

It works because Maurice LaMarche, a voice actor built for thunderous overstatement, throws his whole chest into a joke that exists for maybe two seconds. The show's genius has always been dressing up throwaway sight gags with real vocal commitment, and this shouting gorilla is a tiny, perfect example of that generosity toward nothing at all.
