Aki Hayakawa

Aki Hayakawa is a Public Safety devil hunter, older and steadier than the misfits he's saddled with, including a new recruit named Denji. He carries himself with weary calm, a man who has already lost more than most and channels it into quiet discipline, a cigarette, and a singular, buried drive to kill the Gun Devil.

He's the show's model of contained grief, the straight man whose composure only makes the cracks more affecting when they show. Shogo Sakata plays him low and unhurried, letting silence and small gestures carry weight the dialogue doesn't spell out, which makes Aki feel like the most quietly human person in a very loud, violent world.
