Airport Announcer

Heard rather than seen, this is the disembodied voice that pipes over the terminal speakers in Futurama's vision of future air travel, rattling off gate changes, delays and absurd safety warnings with the flat, chipper indifference of every airport announcer who ever existed. She wants nothing except to keep the announcements coming.

The joke is entirely in the incongruity: a thousand years of technological progress, and the PA system still sounds exactly as bored and unhelpful as it does today. Tress MacNeille's delivery is pitch-perfect bureaucratic monotone, which is precisely why a single absurd line lands so much harder than it would shouted.
