Aimee

Aimee lives with the Garvey family, closer to daughter Jill than to anyone with a name on the lease, and nobody quite explains why. She drifts through Kevin's house in oversized T-shirts, watching, half-joking, present in a way that unsettles more than it comforts. She wants to belong somewhere, or at least to disappear less obviously than everyone else.

The show never rushes to explain Aimee, and Emily Meade plays that ambiguity beautifully — a smirk that could be teenage bravado or genuine menace, a closeness to the Garveys that reads as both intimacy and intrusion. She's unsettling precisely because the show refuses to tell you what kind of unsettling she is.
