Agent

Darren Lamb runs a talent agency out of a cramped, shabby office, and he is not very good at it. He represents Andy Millman among a roster of no-hopers, doling out excuses instead of jobs and self-help platitudes instead of results, all delivered with total, oblivious confidence.

Merchant plays him as pure comic negligence: gangly, smug, endlessly pleased with himself despite being useless at the one thing his job requires. The joy is in the gap between his breezy self-regard and his clients' obvious misery, a hopeless middleman who never once suspects he's the problem.
