Aelfwynn

Aelfwynn is Uhtred's daughter, raised largely apart from the father whose reputation looms over her. She arrives at court sheltered, trusting, and eager for affection and belonging, unprepared for how useful a name like hers makes her to men who trade daughters for alliances. She wants love; the world around her wants leverage.

Phia Saban plays her innocence as something real rather than decorative, so watching political men close in around her has genuine sting. The show uses her to expose exactly how disposable noble daughters were, and Saban never lets Aelfwynn become merely pitiable — she keeps finding small, stubborn ways to want things for herself.
