Adult Jeff Sadecki

Jeff is Shauna's husband, a mild-mannered high school teacher and self-styled entrepreneur puttering through a marriage that has gone quietly stale. He's affable, a little clueless, prone to earnest gestures that land wrong, and eager to reconnect with a wife who seems perpetually elsewhere. He wants intimacy and normalcy, and can't quite see how far out of reach they are.

Warren Kole plays Jeff's cluelessness as genuinely sweet rather than pathetic, which makes him funnier and more poignant than a standard sitcom-dweeb husband. The show keeps finding fresh indignities and secret depths for him, and Kole sells both the comedy of his over-earnest schemes and the flickers of real hurt underneath with equal conviction.
