Additional Voices

"Additional Voices" isn't a character so much as a credit — the catch-all line covering the smaller parts an actor slips into episode after episode: a background alien, a one-line bureaucrat, a crowd heckler. It exists to be useful, not memorable, filling in whatever the script needs without ever stepping forward to claim a name of its own.

The joke is that Billy West is already doing enormous work as Fry, Farnsworth, and Zoidberg, so this credit is really an admission of how much more he's quietly doing underneath that. It's a nod to the invisible labor of voice acting — the proof that a cartoon's whole world can run through one flexible, tireless throat.
