Additional Voices

"Additional Voices" isn't a character so much as a credit — the catch-all for the stray aliens, background mutants, and one-off weirdos who wander through a given episode without a name attached. Justin Roiland, already busy voicing Rick and Morty themselves, slips into these smaller parts as needed, unbilled beyond this line.

The charm is in the economy: Roiland co-created the show and already carries its two leads, so hearing him pop up as some incidental creature is a reminder of how much of Rick and Morty's texture comes from one guy's vocal range. It's a small, funny artifact of a show built on improvisation and doing more with less.
