In a parallel universe glimpsed through Professor Farnsworth's box-within-a-box experiment, this is Hermes Conrad rendered in crude, blocky low resolution — a background-detail joke made flesh. He carries the same bureaucratic fussiness and Jamaican cadence as the 'real' Hermes, just squashed into fewer pixels and fewer dimensions, going about his paperwork obliviously.

The gag only works because Phil LaMarr keeps Hermes's voice completely dignified while the animation strips him down to jagged, primitive shapes — the mismatch between his crisp bureaucratic delivery and his cheap 8-bit body is the whole joke. It's a tiny, disposable visual pun that rewards viewers paying close attention to the show's parallel-universe rules.
