He shows up as exactly what the badge and uniform promise: a beat cop dropped into whatever mid-century American town the plot has wandered into, blustering with small-town authority and instantly suspicious of the weirdos who don't belong there. He wants order restored and outsiders explained, immediately.

Futurama's gag economy runs on quick, confident types like this — a walking newsreel cliché voiced with just enough gruff sincerity that the joke lands without a wink. David Herman, already juggling several Futurama voices, gives him a flat, no-nonsense delivery that makes the anachronism jokes funnier by refusing to notice how strange everything around him is.
